Susie Young has more than a decade of medical nutrition therapy experience and knowledge to bolster her practice. As someone who’s changed her life after recovering from health challenges, she’s also been there.
Passionate about food since she could reach the kitchen countertop, Susie Young has always found a way to incorporate the art of sharing delicious, healthy meals into her work. From serving in restaurants to organizing banquets for college campuses, she’s fine-tuned not only her cooking skills but also her knowledge for how healthy food can serve as powerful medicine for the body, mind and soul.
Little did Susie know her passion would save her life when, in 2011, a series of puzzling health challenges manifested. She found herself making all sorts of adjustments to compensate for a mysterious weakness that had developed on the left side of her body. Sure enough, doctors found and removed a tumor the size of an orange from her brain. Thankfully, the tumor was benign.
After the procedure, Susie leaned into developing an even deeper relationship with eating whole foods and keeping up a consistent exercise routine. Inspired by the food solution she uncovered along the rocky road, she became a Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition. She’s also a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Dietetic Practice Group for Oncology Nutrition, Dietetic Practice Group for Integrative and Functional Medicine and the Dietetic Practice Group for Nutrition Entrepreneurs.
Susie has provided medical nutrition therapy for more than a decade and is committed to helping individuals foster lifestyle changes that can prevent chronic illnesses and redefine health.
When Susie is not in the kitchen, she’s playing in the snow or hiking in the mountains with her husband Karl and their dog Tito. She also loves yoga, riding her bike along the river trail and traveling to new places.
